Felicitations
We have felicitated Dr Krishna Tanuku (1970, ECE), Sri KSVN Appa Rao (1965, Mech), and Sri TRC Bose (1962, El). We got disappointed when the Chief Guest of the day, Sri SV Prasad, Chief Secretary to Government of Andhra Pradesh intimated in the last moment that due to unforeseen compulsions in the office, he would not be able to come to the meet.
Dr Krishna Tanuku is presently Executive Advisor and Mentor in ISB (Indian School of Business). Dr Tanuku has an illustrious career that spans over 25 years of global experience covering the US, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East before joining ISB. His expertise covers from R&D to product management & marketing. It includes expansion of new markets and management including Joint Ventures in Europe, S. Korea, Japan and India. In 1994, Dr. Tanuku was recognized with an international award as MAN of the YEAR 1994 - Management and Business Vision
for business acumen, innovative ideas, services and leadership in the field of Telecommunication and Informatics
. This Award was conferred for his efforts in globalization of technologies. The full spectrum of glories of Dr Tanuku is much beyond this presentation.
Sri KSVN Appa Rao retired from BHEL, Hyderabad as General Manager and now is a Consultant to Tata Projects Ltd. Social service is hobby. He sets up safe drinking water plants
in remote villages; especially where fluoride content in the ground water is causing miseries to the residents. Our Alumni Association owes indebted parental regards to him as he is the one who seeded this Tulasi plant as a Registered Association
. He rendered great service to our Alumni community in leading various alumni meets in the past.
Sri TRC Bose is presently Managing Director of Athena Chhattisgarh Power Ltd. He is also independent Director of many institutions in Hyderabad (IVRCL Infrastructure & Project Ltd., Hyderabad; SWEW Infrastructure & Project Ltd., Kakatiya Cement & Sugar Industries Ltd., Konaseema Gas & Power Ltd., Vijai Electricals Ltd.,). Earlier to this, he relinquished charge as Director (Projects), AP Transco in December 2002. Behind his elevation as a Director of AP Transco, there are many success stories. As Chief Engineer, he commissioned 250 MW unit (green field) in 31 months as against CEA guidelines of 42 months; construction of 365KMs of 400KV D/C transmission line from Kalpaka (near Visakhapatnam) to Khammam to evacuate power from 1000MW Simhadri Thermal Power Station at Visakhapatnam in a record time of 18 months; construction of 400/200KV sub stations with 26 bays at Kalpaka in record time of 12 months; renovation of 7 units in Srisailam after floods in 1998; renovation of 110MW at stage 4 of Kothagudem Thermal Power station; he was deputed as a rep India (as a developing country) for 2 months training program on International Management Program on Hydropower in Sweden. He is one of the great pillars of our Alumni in Hyderabad and he organised many meets in the yester years.
We are proud to have all the three as our Life Members.
While the arrangements on the stage were made for the dance program, our Patron, Sri Mohan Rao spoke excellently giving a spiritual message supported by Bhagavadgita; we should organise a talk by him in the next opportunity; Baby Preenita, daughter of Sri Surya Prakash rendered a keertana beautifully; Sri Gopalakrishna (1970) inspired by the meet, read out a poem.
