Diary of Events
History
During the yester years (way back around 1987) Sri GS Rama Rao invited Sri (late) SN Kilaru (Sriman Narayana Kilaru, earlier Professor in Electrical Engineering department and also a senate member in Andhra University; subsequently he was Registrar in Nagarjuna University) to a meet arranged by him for the Alumni in Sanjeevaiah park which was appreciated by him. Sri S N Kilaru was MD of Hemadri Cements by then. He took initiative and arranged a meet of our Alumni in The Institution of Engineers, Khairatabad with a token contribution of Rs. 30/- for the total family. There was a tremendous response. Subsequent meets were arranged with the help of Sri Gopi Raju, GM of BHEL, Ramachandrapuram to include the alumni spread over in the city along with the alumni in BHEL (about 150).
The meets were primarily arranged in Indira Park, Shilparamam (in 2003), and Botanical Gardens in Kondapur. Sri TRC Bose from APSEB and Sri BCV (Aswini) Subba Rao, Sri KVV Gopalakrishna, GM, BHEL and Sri KSVN Appa Rao, GM, BHEL, played pivotal roles in these meets apart from various other alumni. However, the meets could only take place once in 2 or 3 years and there was no specific periodicity. The Alumni (especially in Hyderabad) fondly remember Sri SN Kilaru for his initiative in bringing the alumni to a single platform, though he himself was not an alumnus of ECK. He wished every alumnus to be a successful entrepreneur. He reached the Lotus feet of Almighty on 2nd January, 2009.

1960 Alumni - Golden Jubilee Celebrations - 2009
November 14 Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru's birthday attracted all of us to kick off our 50th year graduation to finish the Golden Jubilee next year in April after full 50 years of our examinations. Our generation (70+ years) came from independence days and Pundit Nehru's modern temple building activity then has laid the foundation for the modern India. We were a deeply involved party to this nation building of steel plants, dams, atomic energy... & more..
On November 15, the Alumni met the current students. We had great fun in telling them about our era. Current students had lot of questions and doubts which were answered by our batch. Then we had lunch with students before gradually departing the College.
